The Common prescription - Iron and folic acid
The body of female goes through lot of significant changes during the pregnancy the demand of essential micro elements increases with the time. Many women lack the sufficient amount of iron needed for the second and third trimesters. When your body needs more iron than it has available, they become anemic. We commonly see initial prescriptions of a doctor filled with iron and follic acid tablets. Deficiency of folic acid can cause neural tube defect and presence of less iron in your blood can exhibit symptoms of anaemia.

Eating a particular food or following a diet that emphasizes on a single Micro/ Macro element does not fulfill the requirement of balance diet. Protein is one of the essential nutrient during the pregnancy that helps for the growth and it boost blood supply. It can also be maintained by eating fruits and vegetables with high water content, such as cucumber, spinach, cauliflower, broccoli, tomatoes, watermelons, muskmelons, strawberries, grapefruits, etc.

Few symptoms are very common during the pregnancy and two of them is nausea and constipation. Women consumes lot of medicine for the same but they do not get relief from it. Simple dietary changes can help to combat this pregnancy symptoms. Consumption of ginger tea can help to get rid of nausea and by having high fibre diet on your plate will help you for constipation.Almonds, chia seeds,root vegetable, legumes, pasta, cereal and rice,etc are good source fibre. Eating guava can help relax muscles, aid digestion, and reduce constipation.

As the title signifizes the role of protein during the time of delivery is vital, but it does not mean protein would be helpful if you consume prior to the labour. Following diet is not a one day phenomena. You should stick to protein rich diet consistently throughout your antenatal care. Your muscles are made up of proteins so as your pelvic floor muscles which plays important role to ease your normal delivery. To strengthen your pelvic floor muscles, consumption of protein rich diet is must along with physiotherapy.
